Computer vision and robotics
An iterative visual exploration loop for a robotic arm equipped with an RGB camera and a sensorized soft hand, designed to explore and solve lock-box manipulation tasks. I designed the vision system that guides the robotic arm to capture multiple views of the environment, which are used to reconstruct a 3D world model. The resulting world model guides the approach to the task, while a kinematic exploration scheme developed by my teammates determines subsequent exploratory movements and updates the world model. This creates an iterative perception-action loop in which the robot progressively refines its understanding of the task environment.
